The European Union also voted to outlaw plastic products like bags, straws, knives, and forks, insinuating biodegradable bags are the most acceptable solutions to combat the ongoing plastic peril. They also set a goal to recycle all plastic packaging, the primary source of plastic waste, by 2030.
